Economic crisis
This leads us to the topic of the credit crunch. Do European runners feel that the current economic crisis affects their running? With 43% of Europeans confirming this fact, it may not be a majority but it is a substantial enough figure to safely say that ‘Yes, it does’. But each country feels differently, with Spanish runners claiming it affects them the most (at 56%), and British runners admitting they run more since the credit crunch (13%). The Dutch, on the other hand, are the least affected, with 79% claiming it has had no impact on them and just 1% running more since it started.
